White Magnolias and cold climate gardens...

Where we live on top of a mountain in Victoria there is rich volcanic soil and just the right temperatures to make it the perfect climate for growing Magnolias.
This painting I actually started in early Spring when my *newly planted Magnolia tree of 5 years produced its best ever flurry of big scented flowers.
It needed a little trim back so this branch came inside and as it was popped in a vase by the window, the warm sun shone through and I knew it had to be captured in oils.
This ones a personal favourite and I hope the perfect new owner finds it for their home soon....
