The picture you see here is our smaller seating area in our old house on a Mountain.
As we move into Autumn these Anenomes in the painting always start shooting their heads up above our flower beds, like a flag going up reminding us that the seasons are changing and its about to cool down again.
We have a couple of varieties in our garden, this one is a single petal type and the most prolific. I haven't painted them before but I intend to paint them again!

Where we live on top of a mountain in Victoria there is rich volcanic soil and just the right temperatures to make it the perfect climate for growing Magnolias.
This painting I actually started in early Spring when my *newly planted Magnolia tree of 5 years produced its best ever flurry of big scented flowers.
It needed a little trim back so this branch came inside and as it was popped in a vase by the window, the warm sun shone through and I knew it had to be captured in oils.

As we move into Spring up here on our Mountain in Olinda Victoria, I am finding daily inspiration for my latest groupings of still life paintings.
Our cold climate garden has an Edna Walling (landscaper 1930's) design with Silver Birches, large trees and colourful azaleas, camellias and Rhododendrons. As each shrub, bulb and flowers unfold I have been painting their glorious diversity as quickly as I can!
