Measuring 50.8cm (W) x 61cm (H) x 3.5cm (D) (unframed), this is an original oil painting on stretched canvas featuring a single soft pink rose in an Antique cream bottle.

My current works in oils are exploring my interest in Vintage and Antique fabrics sourced from my extensive range I have collected over many years.

Before moving to painting full time, I worked as an Antique dealer / Vintage merchant supplying beautiful items for interior design. As a result I have quite the collection of special pieces and am enjoying mixing their unique qualities as subject matter into my artwork.

To the base is my interpretation of a beautifully patterned Vintage inspired scrolly bedspread fabric from the 60/70's.

The vase which holds a native BANKSIA, eucalyptus and dusty miller is actually a creamer from 1960's by MIDWINTER England. I love the pattern on this one and am sure I will paint it again.

To the background is my interpretation of a 70's cafe curtain I found whilst treasure hunting in a dusty old op shop in outback Victoria. I love the birds on this fabric, they are not meant to be realistic as they are part of a fabric pattern so have a flatter representation.
