A collection over time of old and new, vintage and flowers.

Tulips grown locally from Silvan and the Tulip festival it holds every year to mark the beginning of Spring.

Behind a froth of White Chrysanthemum in a tall thick glass Vintage Fowlers bottling jar. Gerberas add a pop of pink sourced from the same local flower farm sitting in another squat Fowlers bottling jar.

A thrown swathe across the front a fascinating linen sheet from the Society of Wanderers, the frill, the check a delight to my eye and one that had to be captured in its flow.

A peek from an early Vintage glass tray features a tall Heron bringing height to the composition and leading the eye back to the downward swoosh of the fabric in front.

My current body of Still Life works are considered vignettes that are set up to lead the eye across the canvas. I allow this flow to happen with both organic and found forms, a mix of my vintage fabric collections with flora that is grown locally to my studio.

These vignettes are arranged in my mountain studio and are painted under natural light.
They are a concoction of my carefully curated finds and flora that is found in my local environs.

Our home is situated in a large flower growing area near Melbourne and we are surrounded by National parks with forests of tall trees. An endless supply of inspiration for a still life painter!
